Integrated Centre for Water Management (ICWM)

An initiative from Geospatial Campus, is started to create awareness and implement sustainable solutions to impact water management practices. The center focuses its research activities on three major research programs, viz., drinking water management, groundwater management, and wastewater management.

The campus offers an innovative and diversified range of training courses delivered by subject-matter experts. With over 10 years of training experience, the campus ensures relevant solutions for today’s water needs.

The main objective of the "Integrated Center for Water Management" (ICWM) is focused on both surface water and groundwater management in terms of quantity and quality through research and planning initiatives.

This center is comprised of a team of scientists and academic experts from various disciplines such as Environmental Sciences, Hydrology, Microbiology, and Civil Engineering to conduct research and development in specific areas of water management.

Mr. Ajith Chandran

M.Sc Founder and CEO, ICWM, Geospatial Campus

As the CEO, Ajith Chandran is known for his visionary leadership. He is committed to leveraging cutting-edge geospatial technologies to address pressing environmental challenges. Under his guidance, the company has embarked on innovative projects that integrate satellite imagery, GIS (Geographic Information System), and advanced analytics to monitor and manage environmental resources.
Mr. Ajith Chandran is a passionate advocate for sustainability and environmental conservation. He actively engages with government bodies, non-profit organizations, and industry stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and the responsible use of geospatial technologies for environmental monitoring. His commitment to corporate social responsibility is reflected in the company’s initiatives aimed at minimizing its ecological footprint.

Mr. Akhil Dhananjayan

MBA Center Coordinator

He is a dedicated and results-driven professional with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and a proven track record of success in strategic planning, team leadership, and project management. Adept at developing and implementing innovative strategies to drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and enhance overall performance. Mr. Akhil Dhananjayan possesses strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills with a commitment to achieve organizational objectives.

Prof. Dr. S. Suriyanarayanan

M.Sc MPhil PhD PDF (Italy) Deputy Director of Research-Vinayaka Missions University, Former Science Officer-SCOPE Beijing Office, RCEES, Beijing, China.

He works at VMRF-Deemed to be University, Salem, as the Deputy Director of Research. Before taking on this role, Dr. Suriyanarayanan was employed at JSS University in Mysuru, India, as a faculty member, project coordinator, and head of the department (I/c) in the Department of Water and Health. From April 2015 to March 2017, he also worked as the Science Officer at the SCOPE Beijing Office, RCEES, Beijing, China.
He has conducted research in the fields of environmental microbiology, radiation ecology, and environmental monitoring. He participates actively in membership organizations and scientific associations. The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, through SERB, has awarded him a Young Scientist research grant. For the academic year 2016–2017, he was granted the esteemed Chinese Academy of Sciences visiting scientist fellowship.Dr. Suryanarayanan has served as a visiting professor at KhonKaen University’s Faculty of Sciences in Thailand.

Dr. Sarva Mangala Praveena

M.Sc PhD Associate Professor&Research Coordinator- Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Putra Malaysia. Co-Coordinator Regional Centre of Expertise on Educationfor Sustainable Development, Melaka.

Dr. Sarva Mangala Praveena is currently working as an Associate Professor and Research Coordinator- Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Putra Malaysia. She obtained her PhD in Doctor of Philosophy (Environmental Science) University of Malaysia Sabah (2011). Her major research interest is the relationship between geochemistry and health in relation to environmental samples (water, soil/sediment, dust, air) as well as human biological samples. Also have been involved with nanoparticle application in drinking water purification. She has published more than 120 articles in national and international repute.
She is the recipient of the 2018 Gro Brundtland Award (Gro Brundtland Week of Women in Sustainable Development), Taiwan, and the Young Scientist Award 2015 (Vice Chancellor Fellowship Award), from the University of Putra Malaysia.

Dr. Jessen George

M.Sc PhD TWAS-CAS PG Fellow (China) Research Director, ICWM , Former Principal RJMCC, Dindigul, Tamilnadu, India.

Assumed charge as Head (R&D) at the Geospatial campus, Sysglob Private Limited from Jan 2023. He obtained his M. Sc. Degree in Microbiology from Bangalore University (2005) with first class and Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences (2016) from the Department of Water and Health, Faculty of Life Sciences, J. S. S Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysore, Karnataka, India. His major research interest is Microbial Risk assessment. He is a recipient of “Young Environmentalist Award” (2014) from the International Congress of Environmental Research (ICER), Recipient of Sr. Research Fellowship (SRF)-ICMR (2013), Recipient of Postgraduate Fellowship-TWAS-CAS (2012-2013) from The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Recipient of J. S. S University Research Fellowship (2011).
Dr. Jessen has 15 years of experience in the field of Environmental research and is also engaged in teaching and administrative positions. He has published more than 55 research papers in national and international repute.

Dr. May Mathew

Founder Trustee and Chief Planner, Centre for Environmental Efficiency, Kochi, Kerala, India.

Dr. May Mathew is a trained civil engineer with over 36 years of experience and a Town and Country Planner and Social Scientist with a specialization in Sustainable Cities. She has more than 10 research papers in national and international repute. She has delivered keynote addresses to many invited talks and published a book entitled “Environmental Efficiency and Carrying Capacity Indicators For Development Management Towards Sustainability”.

Dr Aran Castro

PhD Research Co-Ordinator &Geologist

He completed his PhD in 2022 and has a strong enthusiasm for applied geology. He has published more than eight publications in reputable journals covering a variety of geospatial science verticals, offering the scientific community insightful information. With his mastery of Python and ESRI ArcGIS software, he has researched environmental hazards to native species in Tasmania, Australia, and used the soundscape approach and noise mapping techniques in a case study in Chennai, India.

Dr. Sajith K.S.

M.Sc (Environmental Science) PhD (Remote Sensing) Business Consultant Centre for Innovation Extension and Continuing Education – CIECE, Naipunnya Institute of Management and Information Technology, Pongam.

Dr. Sajith currently working as Head, Centre for Innovation Extension and Continuing Education – CIECE, Naipunnya Institute of Management and Information Technology, Pongam. He has more than 12 years of experience in the field of Environmental research and teaching. He served as SEM Member IUCN, Academic counsellor, at Sree Narayana Guru Open University, and pursued research fellow, UJRF, USRF. He has published more than 10 research papers in national and international repute. He is an expert in Remote sensing & GIS technology, Extraction processes and Research, Waste engineering, Energy production from renewable sources, Environmental planning, Bioenergy, Air quality assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment, and Environmental management and designing.

Dr. Fatemeh Mohammadzadeh

M.Sc PhD Research Associate

She has a post-graduate degree in Watershed Managementand a PhD in Water Management Sciences and Engineering, from the Faculty of Natural Resources andDesertificationYazd University, Yazd, Iran.She was a Visiting Researcher at Lund University, Lund University, Sweden (2021).
She is skilled in R language in Graphical Analysis, ArcGIS,MODFLOW in GMS Tool, WaterGEMS,Python &and Machine Learning. She has published more than 20 research papers in national and international repute.

Aswathi k

M.Sc (Microbiology) Research Associate Microbiology

Aswathi K is a qualified microbiologist with a strong academic background, including a Post Master’s Diploma in Nutraceuticals and Food Processing and an MSc in Microbiology. She has hands-on experience as a microbiologist at IADFAC Laboratory and MOOMARK Pvt. Ltd., where she conducted food and water testing, RT-PCR assays, DNA extraction, and compliance checks with ISO, FSSAI, and HACCP standards. Her expertise includes microbial analysis in food and dairy, quality control, and laboratory best practices. She has also contributed to national research projects and published scientific articles related to food safety and microbiological pathogens. Aswathi is passionate about quality control and food technology roles and brings strong analytical, communication, and research skills to the table.

M.Sc (Microbiology) Research Assistant

She completed her Master’s in Microbiology from Gandhigram Rural Institute Deemed to be University, Dindigul in 2018. She has 5yearsof experience in the field of environmental research and teaching.

Ms. Bhavana Kuttappan

Hydrologist

She has a post-graduate degree in hydraulics engineering and an undergraduate degree in civil engineering. She is currently using this knowledge to greatly improve the hydraulic components of numerous GIS projects. She is skilled in Google Earth Pro, ArcGIS Pro, HEC-RAS, GeoHEC-RAS, Matlab-ANN, ArcGIS, QGIS, WaterGEMS, AutoCAD, and ECP.

Mr. Sadique Muhammad

GIS Analyst

With a postgraduate degree in geology, he specializes in the analysis and visualization of geological data using geospatial tools including ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Google Earth Pro, and ArcPy. In addition, he has good programming abilities in Python and JavaScript and is skilled in AutoCAD, Global Mapper, and SketchUp. His knowledge of HTML and CSS web development rounds out his comprehensive skill set.
